title pic Golf trip to the Sunshine Coast

Posted by geoff on November 7, 2008

Yesterday I took a friend from Hervey Bay in Queensland to play golf at Novotel Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast. We booked in for hit off at 11.30 so we left the bay at 7.30 and drove down via Gympie and Noosa. The Golf course is located just south of the Sunshine Coast airport which is located a few kilometers north of Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. As we were teeing off the regular Virginblue flight from Sydney arrived and flew overhead at an altitude of about 50 feet and then flew straight down the first fairway so low it looked like it was going to land on the green. It dissapeared over the tree tops to land.

We had a great day as this is a delightful course to play and it was superbly maintained. Apart from a few bad holes we were both really pleased with the round. I was only three over par on the back nine until I stepped onto the 18th tee and I shall refrain from telling you my score on that hole as it was a little embarasing. All in all ,though it was a really enjoyable game. Just to the north at Coolum is the Hyatt Coolum with its championship standard layout. If you are looking for a short break or holiday and enjoy a round of golf then the Sunshine Coast is a fantastic destination and both resorts offer some sensational packages. It is really easy to get to as well with the Sunshine Coast airport being so close to both resorts.
